Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules governing your use of Recipe Scanner and any other products or services provided by PAI Labs LLC ("PAI Labs"). This AUP forms part of our Terms of Service. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

1. Permitted Uses

You may use Recipe Scanner to:

• Scan physical recipe materials (cookbooks, magazines, handwritten cards) for your personal use.
• Import recipe content from websites, YouTube, and Instagram strictly for personal, non-commercial use and only where the relevant platform or content creator permits such access.
• Organise, store, and share your personal recipe library with individuals of your choosing.
• Access recipe suggestions and smart features generated by the app.

2. Content Scraping and Web Import — Your Obligations

Recipe Scanner provides tools to import recipe content from third-party platforms. These tools are powerful and must be used responsibly.

2.1 Respect Content Creator Policies. You must only import content from websites, YouTube channels, and Instagram accounts where the content creator or platform owner expressly permits automated access or recipe extraction. It is your responsibility to review and comply with the terms of service and robots.txt directives of any third-party platform before using the import feature.

2.2 Personal Use Only. The import feature is designed for importing individual recipes for personal cooking purposes. You must not use it to scrape, aggregate, copy, or redistribute large volumes of content, or to build a competing product or database.

2.3 PAI Labs Best Efforts — Not a Guarantee. PAI Labs applies commercially reasonable best efforts to respect publicly stated scraping policies, including by honouring robots.txt files where technically practicable. However, PAI Labs does not audit or continuously monitor the policies of every third-party platform. Policy compliance for each import action is ultimately your responsibility.

3. Prohibited Uses

You must not use Recipe Scanner or any PAI Labs service to:

• Scrape or import content from any platform that prohibits automated access or content extraction in its terms of service.
• Copy, aggregate, redistribute, or resell third-party recipe content at scale.
• Infringe the copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights of any content creator or platform.
• Use the app for any commercial purpose without express permission of both PAI Labs and the relevant content owners.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app.
• Use the app in any manner that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law.
• Introduce malware, bots, or automated scripts beyond the app's intended functionality.
• Attempt to circumvent geo-restrictions, paywalls, or access controls on third-party platforms.
• Collect personal data about other individuals through the app.

4. Enforcement

PAI Labs reserves the right to investigate suspected violations of this AUP. If we determine a violation has occurred, we may suspend or permanently terminate your access, report activity to relevant authorities, or take any other action we deem appropriate.

If you become aware of misuse of PAI Labs services, please report it to peter@PaiLabs.co.

6. Changes to This Policy

PAI Labs may update this AUP at any time. Continued use of the services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP.
