PAI Labs LLC ("PAI Labs," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. By using Recipe Scanner or any other PAI Labs product, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide. When you create an account or use the app, we may collect your email address, display name, and any recipes or notes you choose to save within the app.

1.2 Content You Import. When you use the scan or import features, the app processes the content you point it at (images, URLs, or video links) to extract recipe data. This processing may occur on-device or via our servers depending on the feature used.

1.3 Usage Data. We collect standard usage analytics such as feature interactions, crash reports, and app performance data. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

1.4 Device Information. We collect basic device information (device model, OS version, app version) for diagnostic and compatibility purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Recipe Scanner app and related services.
• To personalise your experience, such as saving your recipe library across devices.
• To diagnose and fix technical issues and improve app performance.
• To communicate with you about updates, new features, or support matters.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your data to serve advertisements.

3. Third-Party Content and Platform Data

When you import a recipe from a third-party website or platform, PAI Labs accesses that content on your behalf to extract recipe information. We do not store the full original third-party content beyond what is necessary to complete the extraction. You remain responsible for ensuring that your use of the import feature complies with the relevant platform's terms of service and privacy policies.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share data with:

• Service providers who assist us in operating the app (cloud infrastructure, analytics), under contractual obligations of confidentiality.
• Law enforcement or regulators if required by applicable law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PAI Labs, our users, or the public.
• Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with prior notice to you.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and recipe data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. On-Device Processing

Where technically feasible, PAI Labs processes data on your device to minimise the personal data transmitted to our servers. Camera scanning is processed locally on your device using Apple Intelligence by default.

7. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. No security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Recipe Scanner is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at peter@PaiLabs.co and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at peter@PaiLabs.co. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notice or email. Your continued use of the services after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance.
